Yesterday, my body just decided to surrender to the massive lethargic spell I’d tried so hard to deny, no doubt prodded on by an impending cold.
So there I was, walking from my local UGC cinema (man, I love that place!), not too impressed by Mira Nair’s latest offering, not to mention highly irritated by Reese Witherspoon (she acted decently, but something about her just ticks me off), when I walk pass a taxi rank where two huge full grown men are trying to move a paraplegic man and his wheelchair into a taxi.
For some strange reason, I just stopped and watched for half a minute, wondering whether the two men’s efforts was actually going to work. Sighing, I put down my bags (which were quite heavy), and moved briskly towards them. Immediately, I noticed that one of the paraplegic man’s shoes had fallen off and picked it up, to which he responded by a big big smile and a thumbs up rather close to my mind. Smiling, I then helped push his wheelchair (and him) into the taxi, gently placing his shoe in the taxi.
Picking up my bags and walking away, I no longer felt lethargy nor sick.
