about a square peg in a round hole

I signed up for an MLM today. Herbalife. Cost me a hundred Kiwi bucks. Got a free protein shake powder thingie that tastes quite nice, but is probably bad for me considering that my body does not tolerate excess protein well, resulting in mindnumbing bodyaches.

Spent 2 hours with the lady who ’sponsored’ me. Very nice and easy going lady, with a seemingly genuine interest to help others to acquire a home business, as well as a loyal dedication to Herbalife products.

Ate a Herbalife protein bar on the way back. A bit too chewy for my taste, and kinda sweet, but certainly not bad tasting. Neither was the shake.

So anyway. On the outset, Herbalife seems highly promising. Or at least, the lady made it seem so – she is definitely a good salesperson. With a Nobel Laureate on board, NASDAQ listing, 2-3 billion turnover, and operations in 61 countries worldwide, one does get quite attracted to the MLM.

However, a brief google depicts Herbalife in an entirely different and utterly negative light. I shall have to spend more time researching on the matter before concluding on a verdict.

In any case, I’m sure you’re thinking: What a fucking idiot. That’s a hundred bucks down the fucking drain. I’m thinking exactly that too, at this exact moment.

But its only a hundred bucks. For an opportunity. If it works, wonderful. If it doesn’t, I’ll have an opportunity to analyse why as well as roast the fucking program at every single possible instance.

For now, I’ll just hang on to the hope that legit or otherwise, I will make some money, hopefully and preferably in a morally satisfactory manner.
